Case Illustration: Distal Fibula Fracture with OSG Dislocation

A 66-year-old female patient presented with a distal fibular fracture with OSG dislocation. Past medical history was significant for polyneuropathy. The fracture necessitated fixation and was treated operatively through a minimally invasive small incision in the distal lateral malleolus. The IlluminOss implant was inserted, filled with liquid monomer, and expanded filling the canal. The implant was then cured with visible light. A plate and screw construct was then utilized for lateral fixation. Screws were extended through the hardened IlluminOss implant for support. The patient was then placed in an external fixator to supplement the stability of the fracture.
